Board jewlry

Are  you board of your same old jewelry? Do you see those cool scrabble stile jewelry in the windows of shops and on your friends but don't have enough to buy them? Well worry no more coz you can make your own.


What you will need:

• old scrabble pieces (use old ones you have at home or find some in charity shops)
• hot glue gun or super glue (or any strong glue you have in the house)
• jewelry fastenings (or for a cheaper way you could make your own with some wire, or for a ring use and old keyring)
• beads if you want to put those on you jewelry to

1. Pick out the scrabble pieces you want.
2. Take your jewelry fastening (or make up your own one with your wire) and glue the scrabble pieces on
3. String onto your necklace or bracelet (if making one)
4. Wear and show off

If people ask you where you got it you can tell them you made it and make them really impressed.

For alternative ideas you could use old computer keyboard keys or other game pieces. If you are left with a scrabble, computer keyboard or other game board bare with no use why not try and turn it into to a jewelry holder. Be creative think up something of your own!

Upcycling hot water bottles...

I decided this year for upcycling to be the theme of my birthday party and I thought it would be fun and differnt. So I've decided to go with three things to make; scrabble jewlrey, jumper pillows and something made from old hot water bottles. I got the idea for something out of hot water bottles when my mother was throwing out an old one that was leaking, I was thinking that there must be a way of reusing them. So I've been looking around on the internet and so far I've seen seat cushines, bags and may other things but none of them appeled to me intill I saw a picture of a note book where the cover was made out of a hot water bottel. I thought i would share this with you and I will keep looking for more ideas and make a whole post of pictures so you can try and make something out of those old leakind hot water bottles...

Hello and welcome...

So... this is my first ever post to anyone who's reading. As a very crafty girl I am also looking for things to make things with and then I came accross upcycling. It is a fun way to make something new out of something old or unuseful. I wanted to share some of my ideas with you and some ideas that I've found on the internet.
